DC Fast Charger Price Guide: What Drives the Price and How to Get an Accurate Quote
Understand the unit-price factors behind 60kW, 120kW, 150kW and high-power DC fast chargers before sending an RFQ.
Send DC charger requirements for a real quote
Share power class, connector, OCPP/payment scope, destination country and quantity. SUNFULL can match the model instead of sending a placeholder price.
Short answer
There is no single DC fast charger price. The unit price depends mainly on power class, cooling method, connector count, cabinet architecture, OCPP and payment features, market certification and order quantity. Two chargers with the same kW rating can differ materially after these items are specified.
This page covers charger hardware unit price. For full station budget, see the DC fast charging station cost guide. For what to send before asking price, see the EV charger price RFQ information page.
What actually determines a DC fast charger's price
| Price driver | Lower price to higher price | Why it moves the price |
|---|---|---|
| Power class | 30-60kW to 120-240kW to 350kW+ HPC | Higher power needs more modules, heavier electrical design and stronger thermal management. |
| Cooling | Air-cooled to liquid-cooled | Liquid cooling adds hardware and testing, especially at high power or hot-climate sites. |
| Architecture | All-in-one to split power cabinet + dispensers | Split systems cost more upfront but scale better across multiple bays. |
| Connectors | Single gun to dual gun to multi-dispenser | More connectors add cables, locks, contactors, controls and testing. |
| OCPP/payment | Basic charging to OCPP/CSMS/RFID/QR/POS | Software and payment workflows change firmware, hardware and acceptance testing. |
| Certification | General model to destination-specific files | Model- and market-specific safety, EMC, metering or telecom requirements affect BOM and documentation. NRS 097 is relevant only where the project includes an applicable grid-connected generation, storage or bidirectional interface, not an ordinary one-way DC charger. |
Relative price position by power class
| Power class | Typical use | Relative unit price position | Quotation notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30-60kW | Retail, small fleet, low-turnover commercial parking | Entry to mid | Useful where dwell time is longer or grid capacity is limited. |
| 90-120kW | Fleet, petrol station, destination DC charging | Mid | Often a practical balance between charging speed and grid demand. |
| 150-180kW | Highway, CPO, taxi and high-turnover commercial sites | Mid to high | Confirm dual-gun power sharing, cooling and certification by model. |
| 240kW+ | Highway hubs, large fleets, high-utilization sites | High | Often needs stronger grid, power sharing and more detailed site planning. |
| 350kW+ HPC | Ultra-fast, truck and 800V applications | Premium | Confirm liquid cooling, 800V range, cabinet architecture and cable scope. |
Sample price, batch price and project price are different
Sample pricing is usually higher because it includes small-batch handling and documentation. Batch pricing reflects quantity, packing and repeat production. Project pricing may add spare parts, software test scope, delivery terms and site-specific documents. Ask suppliers to separate these lines so quotations can be compared fairly.
Procurement checklist before asking for price
- Power target: 60kW, 120kW, 150kW, 180kW, 240kW or higher.
- Connector standard: CCS2, CCS1, CHAdeMO, GB/T or NACS if required for North America.
- Connector count and cable length requirement.
- OCPP version, target CSMS and payment workflow.
- Destination market and required certificate files.
- Quantity: sample, pilot batch or project roll-out.
- Trade term: EXW, FOB, CIF, DDP or local delivery boundary.
- Required spare parts, warranty and commissioning support.

Common buyer mistakes
Do not compare only the headline kW rating. A 150kW charger with certified metering, OCPP test evidence, dual connectors and market-specific documents is not the same quote as a basic 150kW cabinet. Also avoid hiding destination country or payment requirements to get a lower first number; those details usually return later as cost, delay or rework.
How SUNFULL helps confirm the right model
SUNFULL reviews the requested power, connector, OCPP/payment scope, country and quantity, then matches the closest AC/DC charger model and quotation boundary. The aim is to send a usable quote with the right document path rather than a generic price list.
Need a price that can be compared fairly?
Send the same power, connector, OCPP, certification, quantity and Incoterm scope to every supplier before comparing quotations.
Buyer FAQ
How much does a DC fast charger cost?
It depends on power class, cooling, connectors, certification, software and quantity. Send power target, connector, quantity and destination country for a model-specific quote.
Why is a 150kW DC charger more expensive than a 60kW charger?
Higher power needs more power modules, heavier electrical components, stronger thermal design and often more advanced power sharing.
Is an all-in-one DC charger cheaper than a split charger?
Usually for one charging bay. A split system can be more efficient across multiple dispensers or high-power sites, so compare by site design.
Does certification change the price?
Yes. Market-specific certification, metering and telecom requirements can affect hardware, documents and testing. Confirm by destination market.
What is the difference between a price list and a quotation?
A price list is indicative. A quotation is tied to model, quantity, connector, certificate, payment scope, Incoterm and delivery schedule.
Does order quantity reduce the unit price?
Generally yes. Sample or one-unit pricing is normally higher than batch or project pricing.
