Many EV charger price requests fail because the supplier receives only "send me price". A serious factory quote needs the charger type, power, connector, software, documents, quantity and delivery scope. Otherwise buyers compare incomplete prices.

Better first message to a supplier

Instead of asking only for a price list, send a short project description: "We need 20 units of 22kW Type 2 OCPP wallbox for hotel parking in Europe, with RFID, logo label, English manual and CE documents. Please quote sample and 20-unit batch by EXW and FOB."

Price RFQ Guide

Why does EV charger price change after the first quote?

EV charger price changes when the buyer adds connector standard, OCPP/CSMS, RFID, QR/POS payment, certification files, OEM branding, cable length, spare parts, packing, Incoterm or delivery schedule. A price request should therefore describe the intended site and commercial scope, not only the charger power.

A price list is not the same as a quotation

A general price list can help with early budget planning, but it does not cover local certification, payment modules, OCPP testing, branding, packing or shipment terms. For project purchasing, compare quotations only after each supplier has answered the same RFQ fields.

How to compare supplier quotes fairly

Put the charger model, connector, OCPP version, payment scope, cable length, certificate files, warranty term, spare parts and Incoterm into one comparison table. A cheaper quote may exclude items that are required before site launch. If the project needs remote operation or paid charging, check the OCPP / CSMS scope before comparing final supplier prices.

Separate budget price, sample price and batch price

For early sourcing, ask for a budget price first. Before a purchase order, ask for sample price, batch price, branding charge, packing cost and delivery term separately. This prevents a common mistake: choosing a supplier based on a low sample price, then discovering that logo, documentation, payment module, cable option or freight terms make the real order different.

What buyers should not hide

Do not hide the destination market, charger usage, expected quantity or required certificate in order to get a quick low price. Those details decide the right model and document path. A clear RFQ helps the factory avoid quoting the wrong connector, wrong OCPP scope or wrong compliance file, which saves more time than a short price-only message.

How to ask for model recommendation

If the buyer is unsure about model choice, send the parking scenario, vehicle type, charging time, grid condition and revenue model. For hotels and workplaces, AC wallbox may be enough. For highway, taxi, fleet and CPO sites, DC fast charging usually needs a more detailed project proposal.

Buyer FAQ

Can SUNFULL give a budget price first?

Yes. A budget range is possible, but a firm quotation needs charger type, power, connector, quantity, country, software and delivery scope.

Why is a 22kW AC charger quote different by market?

Connector, cable type, certification, packaging, OCPP/RFID and OEM branding can differ by market even when the headline power is the same.

What is the fastest way to get a useful quote?

Send a short project message with charger type, power, connector, OCPP/payment needs, quantity, market and timeline.

Should OCPP and payment scope be included before asking EV charger price?

Yes. OCPP version, CSMS provider, RFID, QR, POS, app payment and reporting requirements can change hardware, firmware testing and the final quotation.
