Short Answer

What should buyers confirm with an EV charger OEM/ODM factory?

Buyers should confirm the exact AC or DC charger model, certification scope, logo and label requirements, OCPP/CSMS configuration, app or portal branding, sample timing, packaging, export documents, spare parts and quality inspection process. OEM price comparison is only useful when hardware, software, documents and after-sales responsibilities are visible in one RFQ.

OEM and ODM Scope

Private-Label EV Charging: What Must Be Defined

OEM uses an approved product base with buyer branding; ODM adds agreed engineering changes. Both require model, software, document and ownership controls.

Enclosure and Label Branding

Confirm logo, color, rating label, warning text and approval proof against the selected enclosure and destination language.

Firmware Configuration

Define OCPP endpoint, security profile, RFID, payment, display, remote functions and who owns each software setting.

Custom Housing or Tooling

Review feasibility, tooling ownership, maintenance, samples, dimensional approval, testing impact, cost and transfer conditions before engineering starts.

App and Portal Branding

Define the CSMS, app-store accounts, domain, privacy terms, functions, source or licence rights, maintenance and acceptance test in a software proposal.

Packaging and Documents

Freeze carton marks, manuals, labels, warranty wording and shipment documents with revision control and destination requirements.

Sample-to-Batch Approval

Use a representative sample and written checklist for appearance, firmware, OCPP, electrical functions and documents before production release.

Engagement Paths

Three EV Charger OEM Paths to Define in the RFQ

The correct path depends on product maturity, engineering changes, market evidence and service responsibility, not a generic package price.

Private Label on an Approved Base Model

For distributors and brands that need controlled logo, label, packaging, manuals and supported firmware settings.

  • Exact base model and options
  • Artwork and document approval
  • Model-specific compliance files
  • Sample and batch terms by quotation

ODM Engineering Change

For projects requiring enclosure, electronics, firmware, interface or protocol changes beyond standard configuration.

  • Requirements and feasibility review
  • Tooling and IP agreement
  • Testing and certification impact
  • Milestones and acceptance criteria

Distributor or Project Supply

For buyers starting with standard SUNFULL products while building local sales, installation and service capability.

  • Market and channel scope
  • Evaluation plan and quotation
  • Local support responsibility
  • Performance terms in written agreement
OEM Trust Checklist

What SUNFULL Clarifies Before Private-Label Production

Use this checklist for searches such as private label EV charger manufacturer, OEM EV charger China, EV charger ODM and white label EV charger. It keeps brand scope, technical scope and export responsibility clear before the first sample.

OEM Area Buyer Input Needed Factory Output to Confirm
Model and market fit Target country, site type, power level, connector, grid input, enclosure rating and expected quantity. Recommended model, datasheet, model-specific certificate scope, accessories, packing size and lead time.
Branding and documents Logo file, brand color, label language, manual language, packaging marks, carton requirements and warranty wording. Artwork proof, label draft, packaging proof, manual cover, nameplate data and pre-production approval sample.
OCPP / firmware setup OCPP version, CSMS URL, charger identity rule, RFID logic, QR/POS payment needs, language and time zone. Firmware parameter sheet, backend test plan, sample configuration record and final batch configuration log.
Quality inspection Inspection level, buyer QC needs, spare-parts scope and any third-party inspection requirement. Electrical safety test, function test, OCPP connectivity check, visual inspection, packing check and shipment photos.
Export and after-sales Incoterms, destination port, consignee documents, delivery deadline, local service boundary and warranty process. Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate copies, user manual, spare-parts list, remote support contact and shipment schedule.

Document Package

For commercial buyers, the OEM package should include model datasheets, manuals, certificates or test reports, packing details, warranty terms and shipment documents that match the quoted configuration.

Sample to Batch Control

Keep sample configuration, branding artwork, firmware settings and packing marks documented so the pilot order and bulk order stay consistent.

Technical Boundary

Separate factory configuration from local permits, local certification filing, grid connection, installation, SIM contracts and on-site maintenance.

Useful pages for OEM buyers: EV charger manufacturer China, manufacturer selection checklist, OEM private-label process, OCPP / CSMS platform, RFID / QR / POS payment guide and DC fast charger range.

How It Works

From EV Charger RFQ to Approved OEM Production

1

Define Market and Product Scope

Share the destination, site type, power, connector, quantity plan, branding, software and document requirements. The factory reviews feasibility and open dependencies before pricing.

2

Select a Base Model and Evaluation Plan

Confirm the exact model, options, available evidence, evaluation quantity, test objectives, price, timing and freight in the quotation. Any later sample credit must be written into the order.

3

Freeze Branding and Firmware Requirements

Record artwork, color, labels, manuals, packaging, OCPP endpoint, security profile, RFID, payment and user-interface requirements with owners and revision control.

4

Approve the Representative Sample

Inspect appearance, nameplate, documents, electrical functions and backend interoperability against a written acceptance checklist before authorizing production.

5

Control Production and Inspection

Use the approved bill of materials, firmware and artwork revision. Define factory tests, sampling plan, records, third-party inspection option and release authority in the quality agreement.

6

Complete Export and Service Handover

Confirm packing, Incoterm, export documents, firmware release, spare-parts list, warranty process, training and remote or local support responsibility before shipment.

Contract Controls

Protect Brand, Tooling and Software Scope in Writing

Confidentiality Terms

Define confidential information, permitted recipients, exclusions, security controls, duration, return or deletion and governing law in an NDA appropriate to the project.

Territory and Channel Terms

If exclusivity is requested, define products, territory, customer segment, term, performance commitments, review, exceptions and termination in a signed agreement.

IP and Deliverables

List ownership and licences for artwork, tooling, firmware changes, source code, app accounts, test records and technical files. Specify delivery format, milestones, maintenance and transfer conditions.

Buyer FAQ

Questions About OEM EV Charger Manufacturing

What is the minimum order for OEM branding?

OEM MOQ depends on the base model, branding method, packaging, firmware, tooling and approval process. Ask for separate branded-sample and production terms, and rely on the quantity written in the current quotation.

What logo file formats do you need?

Vector artwork such as AI, EPS or SVG is preferred for enclosure marking and print production. High-resolution raster files may be suitable for screen or app assets. Final color, size, placement and proof approval should be documented before production.

How long does branded sample production take?

Timing depends on base-model availability, artwork approval, firmware scope, packaging, documentation and transport route. Separate engineering, sample production, buyer approval and shipping time in the project schedule.

Can we use our own OCPP backend instead of yours?

Selected SUNFULL charger platforms support OCPP 1.6J or OCPP 2.0.1. Interoperability must be tested with the buyer's target CSMS, security profile, certificates and required transaction flows before batch shipment.

What happens to the tooling/molds after production?

Tool ownership, design-file ownership, storage, maintenance, insurance, permitted use and transfer conditions must be written into the tooling agreement. Payment of an engineering charge does not by itself define every ownership or transfer right.

Do you offer exclusive distribution rights?

Territory exclusivity may be discussed separately after product scope, market, term, sales commitment, marketing duties, service capability, performance review and termination rules are agreed. Rights exist only when recorded in a signed distribution agreement.

What certifications are included with OEM products?

OEM products may use documentation associated with the approved base model, but buyers must confirm the exact certificate or report scope by model, voltage, connector, enclosure and branding change. Country-specific filing or approval is reviewed separately.

Can we sell OEM chargers under our own certifications?

The certification route depends on the target market, applicant, product changes and conformity-assessment rules. SUNFULL can provide agreed technical documents for review, while the buyer should confirm applicant and local approval responsibilities with the relevant body or consultant.

What is the typical production lead time?

Production time is quoted after sample approval, model, quantity, customization, tooling, documents and the current factory plan are confirmed. Any expedited option, fee and acceptance risk must be written into the order.

How do you handle warranty for OEM products?

Warranty follows the quoted model and contract. Define claim evidence, remote diagnosis, spare-parts stock, replacement procedure, labour, freight, local service responsibilities and branding-related exclusions before shipment.

Can we get the app white-labeled in our company name?

White-label app feasibility depends on the charger platform, CSMS, required functions, developer accounts, privacy terms, app-store review, domain, ongoing maintenance and support ownership. Confirm the complete software scope, fees, milestones and acceptance test in a separate proposal.

What payment terms are available for OEM orders?

Currency, deposit, balance trigger, tooling payment, bank beneficiary, documentary conditions and credit terms are confirmed in the current quotation, pro-forma invoice and contract after commercial review.
