Avoid two common procurement shortcuts
When comparing ccs1 chargers, do not treat connector appearance as evidence of the complete DC implementation or market approval. Ask for the released model and the electrical, communication, thermal and test package that belongs to it.
In a buyer's interface table, the j1772 ccs relationship should show J1772 as the AC interface basis and CCS1 as the combination interface that adds DC contacts. SAE J3400 is a separate standardized coupler. Adapters, if proposed, need their own compatibility and safety review and should not be used to convert an unqualified charger claim into a qualified one.
